The AIFC Court: Kazakhstan’s answer to protecting investors’ rights in Central Asia

The Training Centre is delighted to invite participants to join an online training session on “The AIFC Court: Kazakhstan’s answer to protecting investors’ rights in Central Asia”, delivered by Professor Christopher Bisping, on 13 May 2026, at 15:00 Astana time.

Professor Bisping is a Professor of Comparative Private Law and Dean of the Master of Law and Business programme at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. His main areas of expertise are contract and commercial law, comparative law and conflict of laws. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an IMI qualified mediator, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.

This training session will look at the role the AIFC Court plays in the landscape of international commercial courts. It will compare the AIFC Court with other international courts, discuss how they differ from traditional courts and what makes them attractive venues for litigation.
