The IAC held the Final Round of the 4th Annual High Schools’ Mediation Competition on 16 April 2025. 30 students at ages 14-18 participated in the Final representing 10 high schools from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey.

The Best Mediator Award was won by Meruyert Bekisheva (17, NIS Kyzylorda school, Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan), and second place was awarded to Melis Akbay (16, TED Ankara College Foundation Private High School, Ankara, Türkiye). The Best Mediation Team Award was won by TED Ankara College Foundation Private High School, and the second place was awarded to Haileybury Astana School.

Malika Zhandagulova (16, Astana Garden School, Astana, Kazakhstan) and Amina Koshanova (17, Spectrum International School, Astana, Kazakhstan) were awarded the “Leadership Award” in recognition of their outstanding leadership and special contribution to the development of the competition.

The competition now includes Eurasia wide participation from the brightest high school students as a part of the AIFC Court and IAC Eurasia Initiative. This Initiative includes modern international standard AIFC Court and IAC premises and digital facilities and outreach opportunities in 9 countries in Eurasia, and daily AIFC Court and IAC case volume from investors from those countries doing business in Kazakhstan.

The Training Centre has trained more than 5,700 people, including more than 300 Kazakh and Eurasia based mediators, to the highest international standards tailored to the specific needs of Eurasia based investors in Kazakhstan.

The AIFC Court and IAC mediator panel, and mediation services, provide quick and cost effective dispute resolution that is responsive to the needs of investors in Kazakhstan.

The AIFC Court and IAC continue to be the preferred international dispute resolution institutions for businesses in Eurasia.
