AIFC Court, IAC & Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice Explore New International Legal Cooperation

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice, led by Mr. Hao Rundong, Director of the Political Department of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice, visited the AIFC Court and IAC. During the visit, the representatives were introduced to the AIFC Court and IAC and use of their premises and dispute resolution system. Cooperation opportunities were discussed.

Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt OBE, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and IAC, highlighted the importance of carrying out academic seminars on cutting-edge issues of international law, prevention and response to international economic and trade disputes, and other related activities for effective training of foreign-related legal personnel.

The AIFC Court and IAC are the preferred international commercial dispute resolution institutions for business in Eurasia, and increasingly from China, and have completed and enforced more than 4,600 cases since operations began on 1 January 2018. As ‘Centres of Excellence’, the AIFC Court and IAC continue to lead the way on dispute resolution innovation and technology in Eurasia.

The AIFC Court and IAC participated in a panel discussion ‘Fintech & Digital Assets’ in Abu Dhabi as part of the AIFC Connect 2025 global series of investment meetings.

AIFC Connect is a series of outreach events in major financial hubs aimed at showcasing Kazakhstan’s investment potential and raising awareness of the opportunities offered by the AIFC.

Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt OBE, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and IAC, spoke about dispute resolution and opportunities for cross-border cooperation in fintech innovation and digital asset development in the dispute resolution context.

The AIFC Court and IAC are the preferred choice by investors for international commercial court dispute resolution and, as ‘Centres of Excellence’, continue to lead the way on dispute resolution innovation and technology and quality of dispute resolution services for investors coming to Kazakhstan.

The AIFC Court and IAC participated at the international conference ‘Constitution and Statehood: Dialogue Between Law and the Future’ organised by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the ‘Law and Order as The Foundation of Peace: Respect for Human Rights and State Stability’ session moderated by Mr. Bakyt Nurmukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Ms. Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt OBE, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and IAC, spoke about rule of law and enforcement of justice in the Eurasia region and beyond.

Mr. Campbell-Holt OBE highlighted the importance of the international legitimacy of States from a global legal perspective. He emphasised that strengthening legitimacy requires adherence to international law and respect for universally recognised human rights standards.

The AIFC Court and IAC are independent of the national courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan but cooperate closely on matters of mutual interest, including on enforcement of AIFC Court judgments in foreign countries, and the continual improvement of the administration of justice and the rule of law in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The AIFC Court and IAC support the Republic of Kazakhstan and other countries in the Eurasia region as dispute resolution ‘Centres of Excellence,’ applying and promoting the highest international standards of independence and impartiality in accordance with the rule of law.
