We are delighted to invite you to the IAC Central Asia Vis Pre-Moot 2021 that will take place online.

The Vis Moot is an internationally renowned law student mock arbitration hearing competition.  It aims to promote the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application of a “real-life” practical legal problem and to develop future lawyers in arbitration practice. The goal of the Vis Arbitral Moot is to develop the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a legal problem of a client and to train law leaders of the future in methods of alternative dispute resolution.

The IAC Central Asia Vis Pre-Moot 2021 will be held at the IAC in cooperation with the Association for the Organisation and Promotion of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. This will be the first time that such an event has happened in Central Asia. The arbitrators will include the IAC Chairman Barbara Dohmann QC and members from the IAC Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. Leading Kazakh, Russian, and Universities from around the world are expected to participate. The Vis Moot Final is organized by the Association for the Organization and Promotion of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Verein zur Veranstaltung und Förderung des Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot).

Winners of the IAC Central Asia Vis Pre-Moot 2021, in addition to the pass to Final of the Vis Moot, will be invited to undertake an internship at the AIFC Court and IAC.

5 February 2021 - Online information session 

9-10 February 2021 - General rounds

15 February - Finalist Memorandum for Respondent due

26 February 2021 - Online IAC Central Asia Vis Pre-Moot 2021 Final
